Packing is where most of the time and breakage on a move actually happens, so Duke Moving Co can box your whole home with proper materials before move day even starts.

Every room, professionally boxed

Our uniformed crew brings the cartons, paper, dish packs and wardrobe boxes and works room by room — wrapping each dish, padding each frame, and labeling every carton by room. You wake up on move day with nothing left to tape shut, and we can haul away the empties after you unpack if you like.

  • Dishes, glass and stemware in cushioned dish packs
  • Wardrobe boxes so clothes stay on the hanger
  • TVs, art and mirrors padded and cornered
  • Cartons labeled by room for a fast unload
  • All materials included in one flat written rate

What we pack vs. what stays with you

Some things are better in your own hands. Here is the usual split.

We pack Keep with you
Kitchen, china and glassware Passports and legal documents
Closets, linens and books Jewelry and small valuables
Art, mirrors and electronics Medications and daily essentials
Garage and seasonal storage Cash and irreplaceable items

Timed to your move

For most Charlotte homes we pack the day before and load the next morning, which beats the summer heat and keeps fragile items cool. Only need a few rooms done? Choose partial packing. Gap between closings? Add short-term storage.

Pace it over two days. A pack day before your load day keeps things calm and gives fragile items the care they need.

Good questions

Charlotte moving questions, answered

How long before move day do you pack?

Usually the day before. The crew boxes and labels everything, then loads the next morning — two calmer days instead of one frantic one, and fragile items packed cool before the heat.

Do you bring all the boxes and materials?

Yes. Cartons, packing paper, dish packs, wardrobe boxes and tape are all included in your flat written rate. You don't have to source a thing.

Is packing safer than doing it myself?

Professionally packed cartons travel better because they are filled, cushioned and labeled to load tight. That is why full-pack homes tend to see fewer surprises at the other end.

What should I not let you pack?

Keep passports, jewelry, medications, cash and irreplaceable items with you. We will pack everything else and flag anything we think you should carry personally.

Can you unpack at the new place too?

Yes, we can unpack and remove the empty boxes on request. Tell us when you book so the crew plans time for it.

Why Charlotte books us

Why choose Duke Moving Co?

Same crew, same trucks, same written price from the first call to the last box off the truck.

Flat, Written Pricing

The number we quote is the number you pay. No hourly creep, no fuel line, no surprise total once the ramp is down.

Our Own Crews

The movers who show up are on our payroll and in our uniforms — never day labor, never a broker who hands your job to a stranger.

Licensed & Insured

A registered North Carolina household-goods mover with full cargo coverage on every load, and a certificate of insurance whenever a building asks.

We Know This City

Uptown high-rise loading windows, Dilworth’s tight historic streets, Ballantyne HOA rules — planned before move day, not sorted out on your driveway.

We Answer, and We Show Up

Someone real picks up the phone, and the crew arrives in the window we gave you. If plans change, you reschedule with no penalty.

Handled with care

How we protect what’s yours

Wrapped, not rushed

Furniture gets blankets and shrink wrap before it ever leaves the room — no bare edges riding on the truck.

Floors and doorways covered

Runners go down and door jambs get padded, so nothing gets scuffed on the way out or in.

Taken apart, put back together

Beds, tables, and cribs come apart and go back together at the other end — you never touch a tool.

Cartons for the fragile stuff

TVs, mirrors, glass, and art travel in proper boxes with corner protection, not wedged between couches.

The right gear on every job

Dollies, straps, and ramps do the heavy lifting, so the big pieces move safely — not on someone’s back.

One crew, start to finish

The same uniformed team loads and unloads. Your things are never handed off to a stranger or a subcontractor.

Great all-around experience! Highly recommend these guys. We had a local move and they were prompt and hard working. Very professional in keeping on task and offering extra help with items.

The owner spoke to me on a Sunday afternoon and he worked us into his schedule the following day. We needed some heavy furniture moved to our bonus room. Highly recommend!
